Marchesa Fall 2012 Anatomical Dresses

Andreas Vesalius, 16th-century anatomist

One of the sheer tulle nude embroidered skeleton bodysuits worn under the dresses.

Inspired by Gaultier?

  1. I love that label -- "art porn." HA!
These dresses are macabre and gorgeous all at once. Spectacular.

  2. Fan-bloody-tastic! How do these not get the "Desired" label? They are utterly gorgeous!

  3. I don't know what the timeline for this was, but I wonder if the most recent season of Project Runway had any influence on this line. One of the finalists created his collection with fabric based on his mother's spinal X-ray. Georgina Chapman's designs are very different, much more feminine, and so beautiful, but still, I wonder....

    1. Marchesa showed this collection in February, and the PR show was, I believe, in September, so if anything, he was inspired by Marchesa!
